The artist of this FDC, bella cachets, has given me permission to use this story about the creation of this FDC. The artist was working on a cachet for the 1934 NHL team, the St. Louis Eagles. As the work progressed she was slowly starting to have second thoughts. She asked her family what they thought about her "eagle" and one member of the household said "Eagle? It looks more like a vulture." She took a closer look and decided that it indeed looked more like a vulture than an eagle. So, she enhanced the "vultureness" of the drawing and since it was already on the stamped and canceled cover she would see if I was interested in it. Of course I was interested. There's a hockey stick on the cover. To see what the St. Louis Eagle's cachet looks like take a look at usa-20171020-fk-072.
