Occasion: 1971 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships, 1971, Geneva and Bern, Switzerland

The 1971 World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Geneva & Bern, Switzerland, from March 19 through April 3, 1971. There was one common cancel banner used and it was used in numerous cities. Depending on the city the cancel was either in French (Geneva & Lausanne) or German (Zurich & Bern). Also the use of the cancel started well before the first day of the tournament, March 19. The banner size was 42 mm x 20 mm and the bullseye was 23 mm in diameter.
