Originally built in 1912 for the Quebec Bulldogs, the current building opened in 1949 after the original Colisee was destroyed in a fire. During the 50s and 60s the Colisee was home for the minor league Quebec Aces and the junior league Quebec Remparts--teams which produced hockey legends like Jean Beliveau and Guy Lafleur. The Colisee became the Nords' home in 1972 after Quebec City was awarded a founding World Hockey Association franchise.
