The 1939 World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland, from February 3 through February 12, 1939. There was one common cancel banner used and it was used in numerous cities and two Automobil-Postbureau locations. Also the use of the cancel started well before the first day of the tournament, February 3. The banner size was 42 mm x 20 mm and the bullseye was 23 mm in diameter. The Automobil-Postbureau cancels did not have the banner but they were stamped in red or blue with the location.
